The 4 Disciplines of Execution: How to Use in Small Businesses

Why many good initiatives are slowed down after a while and ends without notice? It happens in business, personal life and everywhere. What is needed to stop this?
The 4 disciplines of execution – book provides formulae to achieve the goal.

Discipline 1: Focus on the Widely Important Goal

If you’re trying to execute more goals, you or your team can’t focus. This makes the success almost impossible. If you narrow the focus to one goal , you can distinguish the priority from other tasks.

Discipline 2: Act on the Lead Measures

Lead measures are something you can contol. Lag measures are something beyond your control. For example lead measure is measuring the steps you take everyday, lag measure is the weight you reduced. Act on the lead measure for your goal.

Discipline 3: Keep a compelling scoreboard

What if a footbal match played without a scoreboard. It is not going to engage the audience. They will be puzzled overall. It is important to have the scoreboard of lead measures visible to your team for team work and course correction.

Discipline 4: Create a Cadance of Accountability

Involving people in achieveing the lead measures and making them accountable regularly and frequenlty for the results. Have frequent meetings not more than 20 minutes on the lead measures they are responsible for.

The above rules are very simple, but need a lot of patience and pasion to drive and get results. I would recommend you to read the book for once to change the way of executing anything.
